I went to the Bellhouse in Eastwood, Leigh recently, back in February 2015 - a little by mistake. A group of us had planned to eat at the Miller and Carter just up the road, but hadn't booked and couldn't get a table. We went to the Bellhouse as a sorry second place - but was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere inside was warm, and the staff were very welcoming. They had great beers on tap, and the Bellhouse food was excellent, if a little straight forward. We ordered steak - and although I'll claim it wasn't quite up to the standard of Miller and Carter, it was still fantastic - and the sides, vegetables, etc, good beer and good company more than made up for it. I'm planning another meal out specifically to the Bellhouse as I enjoyed it so much - wasn't the run-of-the-mill pub food or experience I expected. Highly recommend!
